The story depicts the anguish of Todo Utamaro, a man who suddenly becomes gigantic, and the chaos in society caused by his appearance as a giant beast. One day, a man suddenly grows to an enormous size. Initially, people sympathize with this giant, but due to his size, even basic needs like eating and excretion become social problems, and people begin to shun him. He, who has come to be called the Giant Beast, becomes despondent, but meets a female Giant Beast and regains hope. However, the government sees the Giant Beasts as a threat and secretly tries to eliminate them.

Kyuta Ishikawa (Kyuuta Ishikawa)
Real name: Teruyoshi Ishikawa, born January 16, 1940 - died October 15, 2018, was a Japanese manga artist. He also worked under the names Teruyoshi Ishikawa and Kyuto Ishikawa.
He was a disciple of Mitsuteru Suzuki and Ushio Sōji. He was a regular winner in the "Manga Shonen" submission column, and made his debut in January 1955 with "Chin Shobōtai" in "Manga Shonen" under his real name, Teruyoshi Ishikawa. In April 1956, he published his first original rental book, "Nanashino Monogatari," from Man'ei Publishing. Jiro Taniguchi was his assistant for several years from 1966.

Jiro Taniguchi (JIRO TANIGUCHI)
Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1947. Debuted in 1971 in Weekly Young Comic with "Kareta Heya." Received the Shogakukan Manga Award Judges' Special Award in 1992, the Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival Manga Division Excellence Award in 1998, and the Best Screenplay Award at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in France in 2002. Received the Angoulême International Comics Festival Best Art Award in 2005.
