1950s black lacquer Chinese Scholars book box w/ Reverse Glass Painting

An interesting 1950s Chinese scholars book box with a golden inside, black lacquer outside, and oval framed reverse glass painting on top. Although the wooden box is in severely bad condition, the painting is very good. The box measures 16x13.5x3".
